Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Hello All!
Graduating from bootcamp is such a huge milestone for these sailors! I feel it most definitely deserves a gift of some sort. What did you guys give to your sailors or plan to give to your sailors for PIR?

I gave my son a couple of challenge coins at the airport. He was so excited that he got them and was surprised that I even knew about them too. He was so limited as to what he could take/carry with him, that we waited until he got to fl and he decided what he needed and had room for. The other thing he asked for was a picture of all of us sent to his phone. Oh yeah underwear at the airport too! I was surprised how sentimental he became after boot camp so us waiting was the best. Hope this helped a little and congratulations!

I've heard a lot about the challenge coins, I may have to get one! Exactly! Them being limited makes it hard to know what to get them. Thank you! Still have a while to go, but the planning seems to make time go by faster!

We got him a ship coin and an Rtfc coin. I guess it's considered good luck for them to carry their ship coin so that even made it more special. I bought ours at PIR before the ceremony. There is a lady who sells them there. Planning did make it go a little faster for me too. We also wore ribbons and decorated the hotel door when he came to the hotel he loved that too! When is PIR?

I love that idea! Did you make the ribbons or buy them? I'm hoping to decorate the door too! Seems like such a cute tradition! PIR is 4/22, about half way there!

I actually ordered them but they could be made. They were a blue and yellow ribbons that had an anchor pin. Then on one side of the ribbon was his division number. It was really cute! The door decoration was great when he got to the hotel and it was really neat looking at other people's doors. We stayed at Navy Lodge so there were quite a fee decorated doors! I hope the time goes fast for all of you and your sailor. Have you received phone calls and letters yet?

I bought the coins right before PIR inside the hall. There was a lady there that sells them. She also sells them the night before PIR at the navy lodge. I ordered the ribbons let me check to see if I have the address of the lady that did them. The door deco was really neat and my son was surprised. I will look for the ribbon lady's address and post it.

It's uniquememorymakers.com and you can find her as Lala ribbon queen PIR ribbons. Very nice lady and I ordered at the last minute and she got them to me on time!

Can anyone give me ideas for how to decorate the hotel door the weekend of PIR? Also, are the ribbons for each of us to wear or just to give to our Sailor? The Challenge coin I purchased was from Craig's page on FB and the coin is beautiful as is the blue velvet box to display. I think both cost roughly $30.00

If you have a pinterest i suggest going on there, tons of ideas, or just google! I would suggest getting many ideas and then crafting it to be your own. I would hate to prepare an idea then find out someone else in the same hotel had used it too!
