I just wanted to share for all of those that will be going to PIR from out of town. I cannot tell you how incredible Sarge and his crew at mynavytaxi.com were to not only my family but ALL the families with his incredible Meet and Greet on Thursday nights. I was terrified about making this trip as I don't travel much and definitely not any big cities like Chicago. I don't know how he did it but with giving anyone who needed the same incredible time and assistance, he took 100% care of any of us who crossed his path. We did the reservations for the shuttle from the airport to our motel, too pir, and back to airport for $99. He doesn't charge per person but instead by van load, so u can coordinate with other families coming in and share costs. But that doesn't even start to touch what all he did for us. My 84 year old gramma was traveling with me. He met us just where he saidwhen we texted him after landing. He took us to waukegan where we were staying. There were plenty of restaurants in walking distance for me, but he left us with orders that if we needed anything to give him a call and he would make sure we got where we needed to go. So did the holiday inn express in waukegan, and they have EVERYTHING anyone could forget behind the desk. In addition to serving lunch to you and your sqilors, and photos I guess now. Anyway so Sarge picked us up promptly the day of PIR. Also, Sarges entire crew are vets and can drive on base and KNOW THE ROUTINE LIKE THE BACK OF THEIR HAND. So he was able to answer any questions we had in addition to preparing us for what all would be happening. When he dropped us off, he said when we get our sailor, his guys would be waiting so just call him. We did and he was again right where he said he would be. (He always knew, even when we didn't know where we were lololo). We jumped in the an and I felt like I was introducing my son to an old friend. Sarge congratulated him and asked where he would like to go. My poor son sqid "I don't know Sarge, I have been told what to do for the last 2 months, what would u suggest. Just off the cuff he says he is taking us to the mall, we can have lunch, see a movie if we want, shop, visit etc. Then call him about 20 min before we are ready to go and he will come and get us. We just laughed and ate and laughed and visited w strangers who would come up and thank the sailors. We didn't even have to call, Sarge had one of his crew check on us and we were ready too. He took us back to the motel to visit for a couple hours and at dinner time met us in the lobby. My son wanted a buffet so off to Golden Corral we went. Sarge called to confirm when our sailor needed to be back so he made sure most of all that the sailors got back on time. His charges were so minimal with all the running around and we DIDN'T HAVE TO WORRY ONE MOMENT, we were able to focus on spending time with my son. It meant the world. Before dropping my son off Sarge got us all coordinated with my son and when and what airport he was flying out of. Sarge told him right where he would would bring us to meet him in the morning. Even at the meet and greet, which he and his wife do every week but 2 out of the year, just from donations of raffle baskets and their own pocket. Incredible food, people, EVERYTHING. He was able to go over all the details of what to expect at PIR. There was even a tshirt company there that made your orders while you were eating. It was so sureal to meet the people I had leaned on so much for the boot camp months.
There's no reward big enough for that man Sarge. We were sooooooooooo scattered, emotionally drained and exhausted, couldn't think straight, and we didn't have too Thank God, cause the angels at mynavytaxi.com did it all for us! I still cry when I see the new mommies, but I'm living proof that the wonderful help with these groups and SARGE, that we can make it together! Good luck ladies! Thank you for getting me through this. And that Lemon elephant, I love you!
