Son just started OCS. Told me weekly call allowed but I don’t think that is the case. Can someone enlighten me?

Hi,

My son started as well.   I am not sure.  I got a call on Sunday, which was very short - but right after he text'd me the address.   I sent out two letters so far.  I have another son at Boot Camp at Great Lakes, they left the same day- yes, very sad day.   When my younger son called he said he would be in touch in 3 weeks, I am not sure if it works the same way

Kinsalemom,

You will find loads of valuable information here.  Just scroll back and many of your questions might be answered.  You son will get one call in which he will tell you how to communicate with him via letters.  He will only be allowed letters for the first 4- 6 weeks.  Then he will be able to sign up for weekend phone calls.  Only send him letters, nothing else.  He will look forward to hearing from you, so write often.  You will come to love the mailman as well, as it will be your only communication from him!  Join the facebook page for your son's class.  It will be something like friends and family  OCS group 11-19. (I'm guessing at the numbers)

Welcome aboard!

Most often a parent of someone in the class starts the Facebook page around the time the class begins OCS.

Just stopping by to say 'hi'.  My son's in 13-19 also.  See you here and on the class Facebook page.

Yep- I’m not smart enough to find you. Send me a pm if you can.
