OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

A little about me:
i love my husband very much but find it hard to keep my mind off him while he is away on deployment, which leads to emotional breakdowns of missing him. I'm heading into my 9th month of pregnancy, expecting a son, while he had recently been sent on his first deployment to Guam on the morning of Aug 27th with the USS Michigan Blue crew.

Moon - I was reading your chat this morning and I just want to say a few things.  This is going to be hard and difficult on you both, but the best thing that you can do is be supportive of him.  He will be asked to do things that are out of his control.  They will be demanding of his time and he won't have a choice but to follow orders.  You just need to stay sted fast and know that he is doing things for the both of you.  Like you said in your chat he is trying to make both your lives better.  Once he gets through all the training parts of all this, I am sure that you will see each other.  I know by talking to people that are in the Navy that they live a regular life on or off base.  They have their deployments and that will be tuff but you can do it!  I requested you to be my friend, I hope you accept, I will try to help you through all of this if I can.  Our son is joining and leaves April 20 for BC.  I am watching your photo's as I am writing this to you, you are a cute couple, don't lose faith in him!  Keli
