Travel from A school to home before first duty station

Hi, when sailors finish a school and take a leave before their first duty station, do they have to get on a computer themselves and make their own flight reservations or is there someone at a school that helps them with that?  I know they have to pay, just didn’t know if the navy helps get them a flight or they do it all on their own.   Thank you!See More

TXnavymom - I wish I had the answer for your question, but I don't. Things were a lot different with my son leaving after his school in SC.

I do want to suggest that you change the stage of your sailor above to Enlisted now that he is out of BC.

Alli - Congratulations on your son's graduation. Please feel free to also come join the Beyond BC - Navy For Moms (ning.com) - we are a private paged group that is open to all Enlisted family members to come just ask questions, find encouragement and stay in touch with other Navy families no matter where your sailor is located or what their rate is.

Alli - Welcome to the BC Moms group. I am one of the members on this site that follows our new members and I do my best to welcome you here to the group. Be sure to go to the group page, scroll down the page, past the discussion area and then you will find the comment wall. That is the best place to post your questions and to introduce yourself.

My sailor has been in almost 5 years and is currently out in the fleet.
