DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

Blue Candle Poem

I will burn my blue candle, and hold my head high.

I will burn my blue candle, and try my best not to cry.

I will burn my blue candle, because he wasn't afraid to take on the world.

I will burn my blue candle, in honor of all those who fight.

I will burn my blue candle, for all those who may or may not be there at dawns early light.

I will burn my blue candle, for every holiday, birthday and anniversary.

I will burn my blue candle, and pray for our Soldiers and Sailors that God has mercy.

I will burn my blue candle, until he comes home.

I will burn my blue candle, so he knows he is never alone.

Nice to meet you momofbailey,

It's great to finally meet another Navy mom from my neck of the woods. When did your son arrive at BC? My son graduated from TCHS this year. He went into DEP soon after and shipped out 9/1/20. The mom's on here are very helpful with any questions you may have or if you just need to vent. We are here for you.

If you would like information on your future Sailor’s rating (job/occupational specialty) or field, then let me know the rating or field. There are groups for most specialties and/or "A" Schools and knowing that will help you to better plan for PIR weekend.

Take care and blessings to you and yours.

June 28 will be here soon.

Be sure to check out the discussion, Things to Do in the Last Month before Your Future Sailor Leaves for the RTC.

I also suggest you join Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) and begin checking out the Pages (found under the pictures of the Members) and Discussions there.

Your future Sailor may want to join http://www.navydep.com to learn the ins and outs from the DEP point of view.
