OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Yes, you can send a Bible. Avoid a study Bible, but most other Bibles are fine--the smaller the better though to save room. Some send them in a padded envelope and others in a box, but do write "Bible enclosed" in the corner. Take care and blessings to you and yours.

We live in Wesley Chapel off of I-75 and Hwy 54. We should get together for sure! Yes, Facebook me. I am always on FB since they have the app. I am not sure if N4Ms has an app??? I need to check. My son is going to Pensacola for A school what about yours? I will let you know as soon as I get a call. Hopefully, we hear something from them next week. I am going to write him today and mention all of this to him. Such a small world we live in.

I am trying to remember my handle for Facebook to make it easier to find me, but not quite sure. I have such a common name if you have problems, let me know.....Michelle Johnson. My profile pic is the same on FB (such a proud mom...lol).

Got the letter today.....Ship 02 Div 945. Our SRs are together. I was going through his things in the box last night when I finally made it home from Texas. I thought of you because your SRs name was on my sons paperwork. I guess it was a list of all those traveling together from MEPS. I can't believe we connected on here and our sons connected as well and are even on the same division. I just had to share!

Oh, I almost called the recruiter too. But then I read sometimes they are wrong and the mail doesn't get there for at least 2 weeks after they get in their barracks and a mail person is trained. But he gave you the graduation dates too. That's awesome! We used Tampa office. I was told that was the closest. Hopefully my son gets on 900 but I am sure that night was crazy (when they arrived) so he may have not spoke up. Our letters have to be coming soon. :)

I am hoping my son got a 900 division too. He has 3 years of ROTC drill and rifle team experience. I am so ready for the letter!

Oh, I hope my SRs letter comes tomorrow! The box came today but they did not leave it since I am in Texas on a business trip. I so badly want to fly home now to be there to get it. He has to have the same PIR date cuz they left the same day.

Hi, you still need to make change number 2 at the bottom of OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes To Your Profile) (clickable link) to remove your last name from the URL above.

Really! I am sure they met while waiting for the flight. I know Tyler (my son) said he met several people at MEPS and the airport. That is so neat. Are you going to PIR? We are going. What job will your son be doing?

I see your SR has a contract for Hospital Corpsman (HM); sometime between now and the end of BC, join HM (Hospital Corpsman) A School in San Antonio and check out Basic Medical Technician Corpsman Program Facebook Page. The Rating Information Card for HM can be found at https://www.cool.navy.mil/enlisted/rating_info_cards/hm.pdf; it indicates 19 weeks, but "A" School is 14 weeks after classing up. Your Sailor will most likely fly out to "A" School the day after PIR. See PIR Day and Liberty During PIR Weekend to help you know how to plan your weekend.

Hi, welcome to Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones). I look forward to sharing this journey with you. Your Username appears to contain your last name; if so, you should change that and the URL to this page. Numbers 1 and 2 at the bottom of OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes To Your Profile) (clickable link) will tell you how to fix both. There may be other changes you will want to make as well, such as numbers 3 and 4. Be sure to check out the other Pages (found under the pictures of the Members) as well. Take care and blessings to you and yours.
