On Friday I got the "Kid in the Box" also and Yes, I got those papers, I wasn't sure if they should have been in the box either. Yes, we can keep in touch outside of this website. I will send a message with the info. I meet the Florida Navy Moms you can see a pic. on my facebook. I will give you that info. also. I started writing already, can't help it. I get so busy sometimes, so when I get free time I write as much as I can. I can't wait to find out how well he is doing. I hope he is not on P hold :( Hoping they are moving right along. I hope both of them are on the same ship:) Talk to you later. Have to work.
Nice! What does an RP do? (I'm not too familiar with the different fields in the Navy) My son is 18 and going to be in aviation. For now he is going to be in the aircrew. If he decides he wants to be in for more than 6 years he may be a pilot or a Navy Seal. He is my only child, I'm sad he is gone but happy for his new opportunities he has ahead.
He left from Redding, CA. I haven't gotten his boxed belongings yet. I can't wait to hear from him and write!!! He is so far away:/ What field is your son going to be in?
Oh wow! What town did he leave from?
FLmom I just received "The Kid in a Box". Have you gotten your son's belongings yet?
The Rating Information card for RP can be found at https://www.cool.navy.mil/enlisted/rating_info_cards/rp.pdf. Your (then) Sailor will most likely fly out to "A" School the day after PIR. See PIR Day and Liberty During PIR Weekend to help you know how to plan your weekend.
Hi FLmom, Just reading your comment puts tears to my eyes, This past weekend, the family went camping @ Arcadia Peace River. He loved it. I also have mixed emotions. I try to keep it to myself, but it's hard. I told my son about you and your son. It would be nice to know, his not the only one from Florida. He is going to freeze over there. He has never seen snow or experience that type of weather. I have a feeling I'm going to be a mess when he leave, but we will be there for each other :) Enjoy the rest of the week. I will be @ the airport w/ him. Maybe we'll meet?
Hi FLmom, I had a busy weekend, sorry that I didn't get to you sooner. Definitely we can stay connected through this journey. I hope that I can keep it together.
