Hi Jaime, Is your husband still on USS Abraham Lincoln? My son is. Just trying to find out more information. My son called me yesterday and we talked briefly, the connection was really bad. I know they are headed to Iran. I'm praying for all of their safety!

Hey there! I've been looking online for hours... I was trying to accommodate 3 bedrooms (for you guys) and pet friendly (we have a cocker spaniel). The Pointe Apartments look great, but I think they only accept cats??? I like the way you think with the in-unit washer/dryer. I have a horrible habit of forgetting that I'm doing laundry mid-dryer cycle. Most places I've seen have some type of garage space available, but I've been keeping an eye out for that. I've never had to deal with school districts; are there any that you were trying to stay near?

I'm sure you've already heard, but the guys have almost all of their live ashore packets complete! Vince was pretty excited to tell me about how he and Joe got 9 of the 11 things done in 1 day. I'm pretty sure the dummy lease is necessary for the packet to be finished and I'm not sure when Earnhart's wife is going to make it up there to drive them around. I just wish I could make some definite plans! The 'not knowing' is driving me crazy.

Ok, have a good evening... I'll check back tomorrow & let you know if I find anywhere remarkable:o)

Ah, I'm not looking forward to the upcoming Chicago winter! I like my southern weather. Vince is an FC, so we'll be making the move to San Diego a few weeks before you guys.

How are Joe's watches going? Vince said that the test for Phase 2 is difficult b/c of the ship they're in. Wonderful.

I haven't been on here as much recently. I feel like I don't know what's going on. I looked at the apartment complexes you told me about. I'm a little nervous b/c it's easy to be deceived online, but they do look nice. I'm going to get down to business & start searching this week. If I find any interesting information I'll pass it along.

Have a great holiday weekend!

Thanks Jamie! It was great meeting you & you're adorable family! I'll look at that site right now. I was leaning towards the Vernon Hills area b/c it's really nice, but also fairly pricy. I don't think Vince will go for it! Make sure to tell Joe 'thank-you' for me... I hear his name often when Vince is talking live ashore stuff. I have a feeling they're keeping each other on top of it. At least I get that feeling.

I forget, is Joe an FC or ET? Does he know whereabout he is going for C-School? Vince will be in San Diego, but of course, we have Great Lakes to look forward to before that... I'm getting really excited. It was such a tease to have a husband for a weekend and then poof... he's gone again. It's driving both of us crazy.

Hope you had a safe / enjoyable trip home. If you have any picked out, let me know which apartments you're leaning toward.

Keep in touch-
Tammy

Hey Jamie! I'm sure you're feeling as relieved as I am right about now. Actually, you're probably stressing about the last minute travel preparations. You leave Monday, right? Vince passed, of course, but I was much happier once I actually got the call. He sounded so exhausted and didn't have a whole lot to say. I figure it's because he was just sleepy and ready for it all to be over. I bet your kids are going crazy! I can't imagine how excited I would have been at that age to see my daddy after 2 months. I'm happy for your guys.

Will you be looking at houses/apartments while you're up there this time? I haven't made any appointments, but someone mentioned it to me the other day and I was wondering what other people are going to be doing. I imagine Vince will want to just take it easy.

Well, if I don't hear from you before you start your journey... drive safe and hopefully I'll get to meet you soon!!!

Hi back to you. He's doing good. The RDC's have really given him a hard time these last few days, I think they are just trying to get a rise out of him and see if he'll crack. Not once has he back talked or not done what they've told him to do over and over again. He told them he was raised to do what he was told and they were shocked. I'm so glad this part is over. How did your husband make it? I'm sure you and your kids can't wait till next week. It will be here before you know it. Even though I'm not gonna make to the meet n greet, I'm gonna be wearing a ribbon like the rest of you. Hopefully we'll be able to see through the tears to make each other out.

That's wonderful that they're going to let you work from home! Has your husband said anything about an a-school hold???

Jamie- I would rather go to the dentist than go shopping again for a while. Urgh, it was just so stressful. I probably wouldn't have minded so much if I were working, but I've been waiting to get settled in Great Lakes before looking for a job. I've been living with my parents during boot camp, it's actually been great... I just didn't want to look for a job for 2 months. Can't wait to get to GL!

Hey! My husband, Vince, is still waiting to hear if he's ET or FC. Actually, I bet our hubbys know by now... we just haven't heard yet. The Meet & Greet is at the Ramada... You don't have to be staying there to attend. It's from 6-8pm on the Thursday before graduation. As far as I know its free. Should be neat to meet everyone on here. Hope you can make it. How long is the drive from TX? Should be interesting with 2 little ones!!! Good luck!

It doesn't matter which job he gets as both are GREAT jobs. I suspect he is very busy this week getting ready for the final events leading up to his PIR. Hang in there - he's thinking of you!!!
