Jared Jen, is Seth your son?  My son, Zac, PIR on 3-11 also. He was in Ship 12 Div. 95.  Wonder if you son knows Zac?  He started A school, he said last Monday, but wonder if they are in the same class?  and it was maybe officially Tues. when he started also?  I have Zac's photos posted on my page, send me an invitation if you like....maybe we could link them up if them have not yet?  thanks, hisbelovedlinda

Hi JJ!  If he has time, I recommend he get an EMT-Basic test review book from Barnes & Noble or Amazon, read through the chapters and do the quizzes.  Not hard at all, interesting reading, and gives a good overview/head start.  I took UCLA's EMT course and passed the National Registry two years after my son became a corpsman, so I have some insight here! :)

This is the book I like http://www.amazon.com/Kaplan-EMT-Basic-Exam-Richard-Lapierre/dp/1419550225/ref=sr_1_2?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1299431568&sr=1-2

Jared,

Thank you for the link, but it didn't work. It did not take me to a page you indicated.

JaredJen, Our sons are in the same ship & division. It feels good to know that I have this connections with other moms/wives throughout the country. In the few lines he wrote he said that he was fine. I'm happy! Haven't felt that for a week!

Thank you so much for contacting me! I would love to hear any advice for dealing with boot camp. I was with a submariner for 2 years and my 3 best-est friends are all navy wives and I have several other Navy friends. BUT....This is my husband, and now i have a child, and I didn't go through boot camp with my ex. I have my Navy wife friends, but they all live in other states now. Also, when I met my ex, he was already in and I was just shoved into the navy life. My relationship with that man ended over 5 years ago so I have had time to forget the navy life. I have never spent more than a day without the best friend/husband.
I am so worried about him. He is a very strong and was very confident about going to Basic up to the day he left. But when I heard him on the "i got here" call, he sounded soo scared and that just ruined me. I have never heard him sound like that in the 10+ years we have been friends and then married.
I have been showing my 2yr old pictures of Daddy on my phone and laptop everyday so far. I even tell him that Daddy is on the phone and to say "hi Daddy".
A little about me- I talk WAY TOO MUCH, as you can see. :)
