A little about me:
I am a Mother to 3, 2 boys and a girl. All I ever wanted to be was a Mom...A good wife and mother. The hardest thing I’ve ever done in my life is let my little boy get on that plane. My tears just won’t stop...I did it for him😌💕
I am here to support my
Son/Daughter
Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy career?
At Boot Camp now
When I heard “Navy,” I...
needed to learn more about it, was proud and encouraged it, had concerns or fears
The Navy offers opportunities that...
Will allow my son To become the man he wants to be.
Our Navy experience so far...
is challenging and exciting.

Thank you for the friend request. Feel free to reach out to me through the inbox in the upper left and leave a PM. Stay connected in the BC Mom group, share your days, ups and downs. It is hard to let our kids go but sending them to the military is definitely a different road!

  Good Morning My EVERYTHING#13,

I just wanted to say hello and welcome to our group. It is perfectly normal what you are feeling and it does get a little better. If you join our group Boot Camp for Moms there is a lot of support on there.

Yay for phone calls. I am so happy you got to talk to him on Xmas day. The first call and that first letter is hard but they do get better as your SR gets stronger. It is good that he told you he's ok and that to pray for him.

I will keep you and him in my prayers. Mine has been in for a while as well and I also help out on this site.

God Bless and Happy New Year's.

You know that we don't mind tears on the main page.  In fact if you look back you'll see where I had a mini meltdown right before Christmas.  I am so glad you got to talk to him on Christmas Day!  Those tears are completely normal.  I was a HOT mess when mine went to BC and I didn't have COVID to contend with!! Even if all you do is stop by and say Hi and make sure you can see the emails that helps.  You don't have to chime in if you don't feel up to it but seeing what others are going through and gaining information as to what may or may not be happening is helpful for easing some of your worries and helping you not feel so alone!

MyEVERYTHING#13  - I saw the picture that you had posted and thought I would say hi. My son has been in the Navy for 3+ years now. I and others do our best to reach out to anyone new that we see posting on the site. I see BelovedbyHim has stopped by with information and B'sNukeMom gave you the link below for the BC Moms group on this site, but I would like to encourage you again to join that group. Once you do, scroll down through most of the page, past the discussions and you will come to the group page comment wall. That is where we do a lot of our daily posting and we get to know the new members and can help you, give encouragement and get to know you. Here is the link again - Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) - Navy For Moms (ning.com)

Welcome!! Please read my blog to give you an idea of what the first few weeks may look like.. First Things First-- The Quarantine Edition Up and to the Left is a link to all the Navy Lingo! It is titled Navy Speak and you can find it here. We are here to get you through the “Great Silence” of the next 4 weeks (ish) and the 8 weeks of BC (ish). You will come to learn that No News Is GOOD News and everything is Needs of the Navy. You life will be Hurry Up and Wait and it’s ok to make plans but they are subject to change until after they have happened so it’s best to embrace the Motto: Semper Gumby!! (Always Flexible!!)
The Expected timeline will look like this
Day 0 -- Travel, Arrival and "I'm Here" scripted phone call
Day 1-14 -- ROM (Restriction of Movement/ Quarantine-- Lots of studying and waiting)
Day 15-21 Arrive Onboard RTC and begin P-days (P-days- Initial Processing Days) including 2 days of P-hold (Weekend)
Day 21-- Complete P days. (Initial PFT & Run)
Day 22-- Begin training and mail form letter out. Look for it to arrive around 1-2 weeks later)
All of this is assuming no exposure to COVID with additional ROM
Training typically occurs Monday - Friday but we have heard rumors that Saturday’s are now training days as well.
Normal PIR will be 8 Fridays after departure from Home but it can be less by 1 but it can be extended by ???? (lots!!) It just depends on how many times they get caught in the “Ring of Fire” but do not get COVID. IF they get COVID, Once they are recovered they will not be removed from training again even if they are in the “Ring of Fire”. (so there is that small silver lining if kids get sick)
I Hope you’ll come and join us on the Main Boot Camp Moms page: https://navyformoms.ning.com/group/bootcampmoms You may have to scroll down a ways to reach the comments but we’d love to get to know you and answer any questions or concerns you may have or just be a support from others who “get it”.
