OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

A little about me:
I live in Montana, mom of 4 awesome kids. Two went the college route, one has a master's degree, one a bachelors. Two went the Navy route. My son is AT, PIR 1/13. Daughter is now in bc. I retired from teaching, and work at a friend's independent bookstore. I also have a small ranch where I take in elderly animals, horses, dogs, cats, and raise chickens.
I am here to support my

Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy career?
Enlisted
When I heard “Navy,” I...
Was proud and encouraged it
The Navy offers opportunities that...
The Navy not only has the country's best interest at heart, but also my child's best interest at heart.
Our Navy experience so far...
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.

Well, just over on year later.  My sailor is now a Petty Officer 3rd class and loves his job with fighter jets.  He has also experienced his first deployment.  Now my youngest daughter is now a Depper.  We're just waiting for a job to open and for her to leave for BC.  What a ride, but much, much easier this time around.

Click on OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes to Your Profile) and the Page will open in a new window. Read the Page and follow the directions at the bottom to make change 3 (see the words in bold) so that this page is no longer visible to ANYONE with access to the web. There may be other changes you need to make as well, so read and consider each of the changes.

You may want to check out Sailors Stationed in California. What is your Sailor's rating (job/specialty) and/or where is he stationed (what vessel, if one)? There may be groups I can direct you to.

Take care and blessings to you and yours.
