Hi Mary, any news lately? I heard they finished Hell week and passed all their inspections and tests. They are ahead of schedule apparently. He seemed really upbeat and positive, and was looking forward to the BS. Hope you've had some good news lately!! Their division is doing great!

Hi Mary- My son said that sooo many recruits in the division are sick. If you get sent to the infirmary you get ordered to bed. You can not get up at all except to use the bathroom. So, je completely missed his opportunity to call last week. He said they would now be allowed to call a little more often, and I should expect another call soon. He said the division is doing well. I'm sure your call will come any time now. It has to be delayed for the same reason I'm sure. Hang in there. It's worth the wait!  Karen

Hi Mary,

Got my letter on Sat. Full of info. Things are all good and they past the half way point! He tells me that he is now Grad and go. We do get Friday with him though, which is good. No call yet, but the letter will hold me over a bit!!

Hi Mary-got a letter in the mail about a week ago but nothing this week. He did reply to a lot of friends this week, so I am getting bits and pieces of news second hand. I mailed out the phone card this week. Hope to get a call soon. It's so hard just waiting though. Glad you got a letter and feel better! You're right...the little things are so important! Enjoy the weekend! Karen

Well I am glad you got a letter. Our mail does not come until late, so hopefully I'll get one today too. Like you, the letters are good enough for me. I think we are staying at the Courtyard Marriot in Waukegan/Gurnee? I need to rent a car next. It's a month from today. Can't wait!

Hi Mary, My son also left on the 28th from NJ. I have gotten a letter from him, and all seems to be going well. I keep reading that no news is good news, so I am trying to just sit tight and wait. I am sending a phone card out this morning just in case. I made my hotel/car reservations already, because they can be cancelled up to that day. I did not make flight reservations yet because the refundable ones are priced up in the thousands. Since we are not related to Bill Gates, I will have to wait and make the cheaper reservations when it gets closer. I heard that they won a flag for their division, and earned a phone call home, but I did not get one yet. Maybe today? In the meantime, the letters are just fine. They seem to come on Thursdays, so I will be at the box when the mailman arrives today. My son also only put my husband and I on the list. I wrote to him and told him to add his brother and sister. Hopefully he gets it done. Let me know if you hear anything and I'll do the same. Karen

Mary! You are the first Mom that I have found with a son in ship 3 div. 318..I have gotten a letter, but no call yet?? It seems that the other divisions around us, like 317 an d 319 are getting calls, but nothing yet. My son left on the 28th from NJ and did not get there till late the 29th as well. Flight mishaps I guess. Have you heard from your son??
