FOLLOW THESE STEPS TO GET STARTED:

Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed.  Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

A little about me:
My oldest son left on August 17, 2011 for GL for BC. I'm excited, nervous, sad, scared, happy and proud all at the same time. I know this is the best decision Steve has made. He will turn 21 while at BC. After PIR he will be going to San Antonia for A School.

Definately a start.  Same with me.  I cried when I realized I missed the call and then it dawned on me that I did not delete the message and could keep it. LOL One of those emotional brain moments.

Im glad for you.  I still havent gotten a call but you are right no news is good news.  Another mom told me she got a call at 4:00 am this morning.  She said they forgot to let them call home.  Her son took the oath with my son.  Hope all is well

Doping ok Brandon has been txtng me off and on all day.  His last txt was at 6 or so central time and he was on his way to RTC just waiting for the call like you to hear his voice one last time.  Been a really emotional roller coaster day.

i did get my call... got it at 9:00pm cali time... just like everyone said it would be, very short then good bye.. :(... she said "hi mom here, they told me to tell you to expect my box and a letter soon, ok bye they said i gotta hang up now, love you".... so yeah everybody wasn't kidding when they said it was gonna short.....

how about you? i'm sure you got a call by now... how was it?

we said our good byes yesterday and yup it was as hard as i thought it would be... :(...

her flight actually left today at 2:00pm california time, so now it's the waiting game for her first call from boot camp.... i'm sure they wil all do great, it's so hard letting them go... but yeah i'll talking to you through the whooe process during these next 8 weeks then we'll get to meet at graduation... hang in there....
