TV - we are seeing your messages post but I agree with Partyofseven. Be sure to log in on a computer - this site is not as friendly towards the mobile devices and it can be very hard to recognize that you are posting in different groups. Your message asking why you posts are not showing up was posted in the General discussion area. That is different than the BC Mom group and that group, some days we post so much in the comment area that your post can get pushed back several pages.

It is okay to vent here and we understand the emotional roller coaster that you are on currently.

Good Morning TV,

And welcome to our group. We have another mom that her loved one recently left after being in DEP for a while. It is good that you are here. You will find a whole lot of support on here and no question is ever dumb.

Start writing your letters now so when you do get your form letter you can mail your letters off right away. Staying busy is key and it does help when you start writing now. That is what I did when mine first went in.

I will post some links for you to read over.

***INFORMED DELIVERY UPDATE***

For those of you who have USPS Informed Delivery,  I received an email today that they are discontinuing the App as of 6/12/2021 and you have to download the USPS Informed Delivery Mobile App to your phone.  I just did it and the process is pretty simple.

First Things First-- The Quarantine Edition

This one talks about what happens when they first get there and while they are there.

Wecome again,

TV -  I saw your reply to one of the BC Mom discussions. Be sure to post and say hello down in the comment wall area of the BC Mom group - it is below the discussions. More of the members see those posts and you will start interacting with more of the moms with kids that just left for BC there. HUGS, and be sure to read BelovedbyHIm's comment she just posted (you might need to go back a page) she tells how she dealt with her emotions and feelings after her SR left. We all go through a roller coaster of emotions and some are the same and some different than others, but they are real and we understand them.

Good evening TV! I had a message that you had joined the BC Mom group. I also had a comment in my email feed that you had posted asking about the physicals and MEPS. Shanny replied with the information that she knew. Honestly, I am not aware of the 2 year rule, although I am not surprised. My son had two different physicals and swearing ins. The first was when he joined DEP the second was when he left for MEPS. His physical was on the same day of his swearing in. It could be that it depends on the MEPS office and how they handle things there. I don't know if there is a different recruiting station that the one your son is a part of, but you might try contacting a different recruiting office and talk to another recruiter. Yours may just not have as accurate information as he should. I know it is frustrating, but we often say, "Hurry up and wait", not only for the Navy but anything military.

Good Morning TV - Welcome to the N4M website. I spend a lot of time on this site volunteering my time to help new moms find their way around the site and get involved in groups. I saw you had liked B'sNukeMom's post about leaving for BC and I wanted to encourage you to join our Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) - Navy For Moms (ning.com) that B'sNukemom shared below.

If you know when your loved one is leaving for BC, you may also join one of the DEP - Leaving in ... groups as well.

The BC Mom group is very active, but the best place to post, where it will be noticed by more members, is to scroll down the group page, past the discussions and post a note in the comment section. It is fine to join the group, even before your loved one leaves for BC.

Welcome and hugs!!

Welcome to NAVYforMoms.com!

Head to “Settings” on the main page right away to add a profile image (no last names visible, please) and complete your Profile. Then - and this is important! - read these Community Guidelines and this Operations Security (OPSEC) Checklist, for the safety and privacy of all our Sailors.

Then jump right in!  Browse around the site and check out the groups and the information in their Discussion Forums.

Join this group for boot camp moms, where you'll also find a group for your Pass in Review (graduation) date; and this one for PIR Reference Information.

Get a head start during boot camp by joining groups for, and learning about, your Sailor's occupational specialty and "A" School; and later your Sailor's duty station and/or Navy ship and homeport. You can also join groups for your own state, region or home town and interests from getting ready for deployment to care package ideas!

Please say Hi when you join a group, and feel free to ask any and all questions - everyone was new once, and there is no "dumb" question.  This site was created by the U.S. Navy just for you, and we look forward to getting to know you and your Sailor.  Welcome to the NAVY family - we're so glad you're here!!
