FOLLOW THESE STEPS TO GET STARTED:

Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

First Letter and Phone Call

I am sooo excited, I received my first letter yesterday. It was very up beat and his job is (can i say what his job is???) anyways, it was a very good letter... And today he called my cell phone (847) area code. He said he could talk for 35 minutes...And we did!!! Thank you GOD!!!

Hi, Good for you!! I totally remember that feeling...it's only been a week since we got his form letter...it means soooo much!! I really though my son would be in the 12/3 PIR...however he ended up in the "push division"..(learning all these terms). His division is the last grop in the 11/24. I wasnt sure if I was happy with the rush to finish...but the extra days off for Thanksgiving makes it accomodating for my daughter to attend. I pray for good weather for us all to travel during those cold Chicago dates...

My son left a few days before you. He left Oct 4th. He is supposed to PIR 11/24. I know on the day my son left there was only 3 others in the group. Really small groups from New Orleans. My son seems to be in a push group because I thought he would be PIR 12/3. Have you heard from your son yet? Hope all is well....
