Oh I was a little worried I said too much. LOL One more thing if you don't mind...
It is a given that this about our SRs first and foremost but it IS about us as parents also!!
It's hard enough to go through this without having something like that nagging at you and that is unfortunate. We all as parents want to protect our children from disappointments but I believe that if you have raised your son with good morals and values( and I suspect you have) then in time he will see for himself and in the long run all this person has done has made you look all that much better. Trust me I have seen this with my daughter. Kids are smarter and stronger than we think! Take the high road for now! There... I'm done I promise. Hope to see you in November.

You are right missheparin, this is an important time for my son and I want him to continue to enjoy himself and grow. We recieved another letter from him today and he is now Master at Arms. It is typical behavior for this person and I just wish it wasn't so close to home if you know what I mean. I don't want any negative behavior or false hopes given to my son ever, but especially now. Seems though with the way I am feeling about this situation that I am brining negative vibes and I need to just deal. I should confront them about this but I know what will happen. Thanks

Hi, I read your post regarding your son's godparent.I guess I would ask you, and you certainly don't have to tell me, ( or rather ask yourself) Is this typical behavior for this person? Has there been "competion" between the 2 of you? It does seem a little excessive from what you have said. I believe you when you say you're not jealous, it is good to have positive re-enforcement and I understand what the others have said. I just wouldn't want you to get upset over something that might be kind of "run of the mill"behavior for this person because this is such an important time in your SR"s and your life. Maybe this person, even though they have their own children need something to feel good and be proud of? I don't know tis person and I try not to judge. I can tell you that if I had someone doing that to me I would say something...like "don't you feel funny about that?" LOL But thats just me, I'm an ice breaker so to speak, I tend to use humor that way. You are his mother, you really are number 1 no one can take that away! I hope you can find a way to get through this, so you can enjoy that incredible memorable once in a lifetime moment. Hang in there! :) Katherine
