It does seem like time is suddenly dragging by!!! I sincerely hope the clock ticks a wee bit faster so we can get on with this PIR stuff ;) I can't wait for Friday to get here, and sincerely cannot wait to meet everyone next week!

You are very welcome, Jodie...but I still feel bad about omitting that....don't now how to revise it on the actual post...which gets lost in the shuffle now. I was trying to be SO CAREFUL and not miss anyone...that is what made me mad at myself. How could I forget Indiana, right nextdoor to Illinois????? Thanks for understanding that I'm getting old and my mind gets tired! :-)

jodie, I noticed below that you "commented back to yourself." The comment under mine never made it to whomever you were writing too! Be sure to click the "comment back" option under a post before typing. You should be typing on that person's page, not your own. I was doing the same thing when I was first on here, by the way, and someone had to tell me! HA!

Hey! I posted to you on BOOT CAMP group this morning, but since it moves so fast, I was afraid you might miss it. It is relating to the "hold" that your son's letter said he was in. Just now posted it so be sure to scroll back and read. If I can help in anyway, please let me know...but I think your son is fine. You will understand after you read my boot camp posts (2). Have a great day, Jodie!

Right now, I am sad and worried about my boy. I am calling the recruiter tomorrow to get his address so I can send the letters I've written so far. Atlee (my son) said, "Don't write me every day. . ." Well, I am anyway, just sticking them in one envelope so he is not humiliated. I think after waiting so long to have any contact with family and friends, he will take all he can get. You know, the waiting for sadness to come and inventorying every "last" thing he did was awful! Don't do it. Don't think of the last oreo, the last drive in the car, the last night in his bed; it's pure torture. I was actually doing this for months. I remember buying capri sun (his friends were over every day and that was there drink of choice) the last time and THAT made me cry. I have cried off and on for three days and though the lump has not yet gone away, I know this is exactly what he wants to do with his life and this makes it easier. I will keep in-touch and try to give you a head-start so it's easier for you and your son. I should have come on here sooner, but I was avoiding, avoiding the inevitable. Have a nice night, Jodie

Well I wanted to send you a message but I was too finger happy. I related to your post where you said you have only gone a day or two without talking to you son...I am not sure I have gone that long. My son isn't leaving until the 1st of September, I sure would like to keep of with you and how your son is doing. It sounds like we have some things in common.

Welcome to N4M. Your key to adjusting is finding support groups – Click on the underlined links:
1. New Moms Stop Here group. Think of this group as your orientation station. We have experienced members who can answer questions and point you in the right direction.
2. Depper’s… in but not yet . is a group for those just waiting for bootcamp to start (Delayed Entry Program)
3. Boot Camp Moms group. Is your son/daughter already in bootcamp? This is the group.
4. OCS Graduate Moms or the NROTC Moms. For those going to be an officer or going to NROTC?
Read this blog on how to use the N4M site.
Welcome to New Members
Learn to use the “Search” function. Search in blogs, forums, discussions in previously posted threads BEFORE adding a NEW blog/discussion. Finally, it takes time to learn how to use this site. Be patient.
Check your page & status box regularly.
Best of luck, BunkerBee and AbbyblueOK (from the New Moms Stop Here Group)
