Leaving for A School

Posted on October 3, 2015 at 9:33pm 2 Comments

My son graduated Boot Camp yesterday. He was supposed to have the weekend with us but Thursday they told him he was leaving at 3am early Saturday morning. You can imagine my sadness when he told me this. It was too early to meet him at the airport. I am from Nevada and totally lost in Chicago. I have been waiting to hear from him and going crazy. Does anyone know how long before he can use a phone call to me? I just want to know he made it ok and get the address so I can send his phone.

Hi! To find your Ombudsman, go to www.ombudsmanregistry.org. Then click on Find Ombudsman, then click on Hawaii. Then scroll down to USS Texas. Good Luck!

I'm sorry that you believed your Sailor would have the weekend with you. It is unusual for those flying out to leave later than the day after PIR, except for some (less than half) of those flying to Pensacola who fly out a day later due to flight availability issues.

What is your Sailor's rating (job/specialty) or field going to be? There are groups for most ratings and/or "A" Schools. Take care and blessings to you and yours.
