My daughter posted the following on Facebook this morning:
To the blind eye this looks like a class ring but it's way more important... 13 years ago today at 17 years old I made the biggest decision of my life which altered everything from there on forward. It changed me as a person, it made me grow, and I had experiences I never would have had a chance to. I saw a ship go from nothing to a warship, I worked for the President of the United States and walked the halls of the White House, I experienced the culture of the Middle East and an unfamiliar religion, I moved over 13 times and made friends all over the world from every different kind of background imaginable.
Most of all the Navy brought me to Washington and helped give me the family and life I have now. I will forever be grateful for what it did to my life and still carry the knowledge I learned today.
The personalized ring was a birthday/RTC graduation gift from mom and dad.
