Navy For Moms

Well, I got a huge surprise this morning! My "alarm clock" this morning was my phone ringing!! Leon called! I got to have a real conversation with him! Everyone got to talk to him except his youngest brother, who isn't home this weekend!! He really sounded like he was doing good!! He's been giving his phone cards away, so I've got to send him some more! He asked me to send extras! Sounds like he plans on sharing some more!! I just love his generous spirit!!!

He said most of the guys are his age, only a few in their 20's and a couple who are 30, but the rest are all right out of high school. He didn't say how many there were though! Graduation is set for Nov 26 --the day after Thanksgiving! But he's going to try to change his job from Coreman to law enforcement, so we're going to wait and see if he is able to change it to decide whether we're going to graduation or not! If he's going to be in San Antonio for A school then we'll save the money and take the whole family to see him there. If he can't change it, and stays as a coreman, then Lynn and I will go ahead and go up for the graduation and leave the kids with family for Thanksgiving! He did tell me that he was told if he goes to San Antonio, those guys usually take a week off at Christmas, so he'd be able to come home!! YAAAAYYYY!!! I'm not getting my hopes up though, until I know for sure it'll happen!

What a wonderful recruit you have. He has learned a sharing spirit from his wonderful upbringing. Thanks for sharing and my fingers are crossed for his classification!

My sailor PIRd Nov 21, 2007. The Wednesday before Thanksgiving. It was nice having him home for the holidays short as it was. Maybe they might change his date.

Hey Kate, just wanted to let you know that Jonathon told me that there are 79 in their DIV - he said it is really hard for them to all get showered in 15 min with only 12 shower heads but he can wait - the one thing he is really looking forward to besides seeing us is a nice hot shower that gets him really clean and the option to sleep a little bit late, lol. He also wants some HOT FRIES if you can believe that, my child always thinking of food. lol

YOU WENT TO CHICAGO!!! How much fun!!! Was it really cold?? Greg graduated on the 16th and we thought about going but the weather scared me off - so I missed his graduation from A school. He is now on hold until they make arrangements to get him to his next duty station. I am such a wimp when it comes to cold weather. HOpe you had a good time and got to spend some time with Leon.

Have a great day!!
