Is it too early to leave my one year old son.?

Hello my name is Cashea, im 20 years old and a mother of a beautiful smart one year old baby boy and soon to be married to the father of my son. I have really been thinking a bout joining the Navy for some time now. Ive always wanted to become a nurse and to help others. Its always been a dream of mine. Ive had to hold it off for two years now. I was going to enter as soon as I graduated from high school but than found out I was expecting my son. He is very much attached to me. I just dont know what decision I should make at this point. I know his father will take very good care of him why im gone. Even though I would be missing him each and every second of the day. I believe this is the best thing for my family. Joining the Navy will give my family so much more bennifits and will help me out a lot financially. Ive talk to a lot of my family memebers and they all say they love that I am going out to join and it will be a good experience for me and that if I do choose to go they will help out with anything that I need and to help out with my son if needed. I really would like to join the navy now, but I know I have to do whats best for my little boy.... If holding off for a while longer is what I have to do for my little one than its what I will do. So if there is anyone who can help me out with this situation or has been in something similar can you please respond back and let me know your opinion.  Thank You

Oh, boy. I just believe no matter what decision you make, you are going to regret it somewhat. Would marrying the father a possibility?

Since you are considering navy nursing, you should contact the Navy Health Care Professionals recruiter.  They are medical persons seeking only other advanced medical candidates (not corpsman).  This recruiter will NOT be located in your local enlistment recruiting office.  Start with this site for contact information:

http://www.navy.com/careers/healthcare/

I have 2 children that have medical school scholarships through the Navy.  If you would like more information from me based on their experience, please send me a message/comment and I will be glad to help you find the proper recruiter.

Best of luck to you in your endeavor.
