OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Navy Weeks Are Coming! (Updated With Details On Upcoming Cities!)

070420-N-2903M-002 LOUISVILLE, Ky. Hello everyone!

I have a little announcement to make regarding Navy Weeks!

For those of you that are not sure what Navy Weeks are, they consists of a series of events designed to tell the Navy story: what the Navy does, why it’s important, and what opportunities exist in today’s Navy. This can include appearances by Admirals and sailors, Blue Angels, Leap Frogs, EOD dive tanks, flight simulators, SEAL Fitness Challenges, and performances by the Navy Band.

This year there have been 22 cities selected to host Navy Week events, the first of which is Phoenix followed by St. Louis, Des Moines, Denver, Spokane, Janesville, WI, Rochester, Chattanooga, Oklahoma City, Pittsburgh, Boston, Salinas, CA, Omaha, Columbus, OH, Knoxville, York, PA, Reno, Greenville, SC, Houston and New Orleans.

N4M is not sponsoring these events, but want to help you get involved! I’ll also be posting Events on the site for each Navy Week visit as we receive more details – so keep your eyes peeled! If you're interested in coordinating something special with fellow N4M members, here's some Do's and Don'ts to keep in mind :)

DO get involved with Navy Weeks.
- You are encouraged to participate in Navy Week activities when appropriate.
- If you want to get involved with the Navy coordinators, your group should appoint a "spokesperson" to coordinate with the Navy. (This will alleviate multiple calls on the same topic.). The Navy Week points of contact can be found on www.navyweek.org. Go to the schedule and click on the city that you are interest in. The point of contact for that city's Navy Week will be listed.

DO NOT independently contact the flag officers or VIP participants involved in your town's Navy Week, but do work through the appointed Navy Week points of contact listed on www.navyweek.org

I have created Event pages for each city. You can find them here:

Rock County
