Danielle graduated from bootcamp this morning. I tried to keep my emotions in check as the ceremony time crept closer and closer. When they announced that the recruits were on their way to the ceremony hall I wanted to start tearing up then. I couldn't believe that my daughter was a sailor. When they arrived at the hall and the door opened and the divisions started coming in as the announcer announced what divisions they were it was an unbelievable feeling. Especially when they announced her division and she walked in front of us leading her division right up front (she is the RPOC) I could barely take her picture because of the emotions running through me. To see my daughter who I have watched grow up be leading her division into the hall was a very proud moment. During the ceremony they introduced all the RDC's and the RPOC's of each division when they got to her division and they announced her name was awesome. Watching her step forward to acknowledge it was another unbelievable feeling. I just wanted to run out there and give her the biggest hug I could possibly give her. But I had to wait until the ceremony was over and they announced liberty. I was on the front row right in front of her division and as soon as they announced liberty, I was able to run to her with her running toward me and give her the biggest hug that I think I could ever give her. I didn't think we would ever let go of one another!! After they were closing the ceremony hall she decided to go with her father out to lunch since he is leaving tomorrow AM, so I am waiting patiently for 3 o'clock to come so that I can meet up with them so that I along with her step-dad, sister, brother and grandparents can all spend the rest of the day with her before she has to be back to the base. We get to pretty much spend all day with her tomorrow and we are all looking forward to that too!!! What an amazing day it has been so far. I know that my sailor wants a good steak for dinner tonight and a little rest here at the hotel tomorrow. Congrats to all the moms that were at PIR today!!!

Seeing your kid at PIR is absolutely the best experience a mom can have, isn't it? When she checks out of RTC, she will be able to have her cell phone and computer, so much easier to keep in touch. Congratulations to your Sailor!
