Exactly,1st of all shes only 15 and 2nd shes a disaster.I think she would lie to me in a heartbeat and your right that would be very mean.Shes supposed to come with us to chicago and shes causing all kinds of problems with that now.Just 1 thing after another. Is this your 2nd son in the navy.So your a pro at all this! What is your sons PIR this go round?

My son left July 7th (2009).  His first letter was dated July 17th (I remember cuz it was his birthday).  But we didn't receive it until July 24th.....so that's 17 days after he left.   Hang in there.....it takes around 3-4 weeks to get the first one...if they write that is.  Some are not letter writers.  And even if they are letter writers, keep in mind this is a stressful exhausting time for them.......mentally and physically.  So don't expect too much.  That way you're surprised if you do get a letter.

Mine left the 20th of June and on the 8th of July we received 2 letters...Said that the other's can make it so that mail privilages are next to nothing...and expects the phone card to be used next week.  Please send a pre-paid phone card for land lines...and pictures too - they can put them up in their bunks...hope this helps and no NEWS is good news - unless you get the dreaded phone call...Blessings Cindy

My son also left on June 23rd and I have only received the box.  I am running to the mailbox everyday to see if I get the form letter and everyday nothing.  I am writing letters and holding on to them until I get his address.  This is driving me nuts
