For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

I'm so sorry I sent my son off to BC last month exactly 1 month in and I got the phone call I thught I was waiting for just to hear his voice then came "don't get to excited" he has hurt his knee and so far is in RCU ship 4 not talking seperation yet but this is so hard I was so longing to see him at his PIR next month and now who knows when I will be able to see hom this is SOOOOO HARD. I'm sorry for your son I know the disappointment he is experiencing has to be so hard for you, you will be in my thoughts and prayers I hear ship 5 is hard on them.

so sorry - BUT, God knows this young man and He has a plan for him...I have been also thinking that, but I keep praying everyday and write lots of encouraging letters and cards...maybe he just has some anxiety or acid-reflux from the stress. It's a big step for their young life's. All may be disappointed, but there is something definately better in store for him...Blessings

Ruth, I'm so sorry to hear about the call you got! It wasn't chest pains from a cold or the flu then..I take it ? We will all be praying for him! and like others have said.."things do happen the way they are supposed to" but I know that doesn't help much right now... Best wishes...Carol

Hello Ruth, Finally found your blog about your son. I hope he is okay. It must be great to see him and hug him, but dissapointing to him. Ruth, he is young and has all the time in the world. Take it slow. Health IS the most important in our lives. We must take care of oueselves , no matter the price. It will all work out with time. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your beautiful family. PS my som Tom loves it and is doing great. He became SECTION leader. It makes him feel special.
