OMG! so much to tell everyone. First, if you are going to spend some time in Chicago, don't drive. Chicago has NO parking at all. If you do drive, make sure you set a side parking money. It is expensive and make sure you read the parking signs.

Graduation was awesome. All the sailors did a great job. We got to spend 21/2 days with my son. The weather got bad so we didn't go to far. Gurnee is a great city to find good eats. Lots of shopping and spending time together. My sailor, moved into his a school room and needed a lot of things. Laundry things, hangers, tooth brush, air freshner and just some household things. Then we went to the NEX and got him a laptop, and a few other things. Set a side some money for that also. All in all it was a good trip. I am so proud to call him my son. Another 16 weeks there and then who knows.

Where are you in Ft.Worth? I would love to meet for coffee. Where did your son graduate from High School?

Thanks for sharing, I was wondering you say you bought stuff for his school room, are they allow to have personal things, pictures, personal blankets, linens things like that?  Our recruit was told she will have to stay on base for about 5 hours after the graudation ceremony than she can leave for the rest of her liberty time.

I am off of John T White Rd.  My son graduated from Aubrey High School in Aubrey.  It is north of Denton.  Long story but it has to do with us traveling back and forth to Africa because of the orphanage that we run there, and him staying with family that live there.  But, now that he has graduated, we are in Ft. Worth.  He attended Temple Christian School before that up until his junior year.

chicky1951, after graduation I saw him for about 20minutes on the floor. Then I got the phone call to come get him about 4PM. Yes, they can have personal items. Please know that they do NOT have a lot of space at all. Also, they do have room inspections. I am so proud, my son failed the first one. LOL!!!!  We bought cleaning supplies, laundry stuff, hangers, music and games. Blanket and lines, I am not sure. I got to keep Todd until 9:45PM Friday, Saturday and Sunda. He started school on Monday. Don't wear your sailor out. They need their rest for their first week. What is her career?

I believe she said air control, she will be on liberty after grad, but was told it'll take about 5 hours after grad ceremony before she can actually start her liberty time.  Thanks for the infor!
