Welcome to the discussion group for divisions 317 & 318. These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the main wall to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion groups as often as we would like.

Every single question asked is important
Every single concern is genuine
Every single member is important to us
We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

In my son's letter, he said they were given New Balance running shoes, so hopefully that will help them!

Ok not sure how to do this as I am new to military life. So I am hoping I am being evasive enough but if your daughter is in Div 317 and from South Carolina, bunking with a short, crazy girl from Colorado. Let me know! On another note, everyone in our family is recving letters and we got our call Sat! Only 10 min but was beyond amazing just to hear her voice!

My SR called me today (SHIP 14 DIV 318).  I was so happy to finally hear from him.

He is doing GREAT!!! Hope you all get phone calls!!!

So happy!! Got an hour phone call from my SR. He's great!! Come on Oct 5!!!

Very grateful for the call from our SR today!  Seems to be doing well even though many are sick.  I was surprised how normal he sounded and he was doing fine.  I feel much better now!

I was cleaning the pool when we received the call from our SR so I didn't hear my phone ring over the pool pump.  Missed the call and starting crying when I saw the missed call.  I immediately called his dad (tlb4444) and he was talking to our SR but couldn't seem to join the calls.  Dad talked to him for about 30 minutes, then called me and had me call the payphone.  I got to talk to him for 30 mins as well.  I was SO happy.  He seems to be doing fine but was sick with an URI so was coughing a lot. He did mention how much he misses his CAT. I can hardly wait for Oct 5.

So happy for both of you! I had just sat down at my computer to write my SR a letter when my cellphone rang and imagine the smile on my face when I saw the 847 area code! I was so excited to finally hear his voice. I also received 3 letters in today's mail too! Today was a great day! I can sleep well knowing he is ok! :)

My great day turned into worry and despair when I checked the mail.  My SR wrote a letter that he said he was being ASMO'd or coming home but in the same sentence said his graduation date had been moved back two weeks.  The letter was so sad, he knew he messed up and feels like a failure.  I have no idea what to do at this point and I need to know how to know if his graduation date is changed.  I have received 4 letters and an hour long phone call that all have been so positive. I have also been calling his recruiter to see if he can get any information but haven't heard back from him.  Thanks!

Don't give up hope.  They often threaten things that don't happen.  If they actually moved him out it could be delayed.  If he is still with his group, they might just be messing with him.  They will probably put him through a tough couple weeks and see how bad he wants it.  If he did something wrong or acted out of character, they will try to see if they can get it to come out again.  I screwed up in boot camp and paid for it for about 3-4 weeks and was threatened that I was not going to graduate with my unit.  Will say a prayer for him!  Did they give you a different unit # for him? Call recruiter and see if he still has the same division/unit as his address.

His letter didn't give any information except he had screwed up and how sorry he was. Yes, please pray for him. I have been trying to get in touch with his recruiter to get more graduation info. I've also booked airfare and whatnot.

Hi all; The most up to date information I have from my son is that they are doing very well as a division and have received their first flag for doing well on some of the testing. They are working well as a team, survived hell week, and will be doing battle stations on september 28th; that's when we should get the" I'm a Sailor" call ( I think!). I've been gettting very upbeat letters every Thursday, and promises that he will choose the BEST picture package when they had pictures last week (or the week before--I can't remember). He hasn't said much in his letters about anyone else in his division, other than having buddies from Texas, NC, and others from NJ like he is.He misses video games, so has started a tic-tac-toe game in his letters with grids for his 3 siblings and my husband and me just to keep his competitive edge :)) This letter writing seems to have brought out a creative writing side I didn't know he had!

I'll be thinking of all of them on Septmber 28th as they complete the final test....I look forrward to meeting you all on October 5th!!

Laurie
