Hi all, just wondering if anyone's Sailor has requested leave over Christmas yet, and if so, if it was granted.  Also, does anyone know if there will be a Christmas stand-down, and what the dates are?  Thanks so much!

Happy Labor Day everyone.
I had to work all weekend and today. It was little busier today than I thought.
Sailor is good. He's liking Florida and thinks they maybe done with school a month early. So that means he maybe home for Christmas and New Years. Keeping my fingers crossed.
I sure hope the thing with Syria goes away and none of our sailors have to go anywhere.

Anyone's son being sent out on a ship because of all this stuff going on?  I hope they get it nipped real fast and no lives are lost because of it. I know we can not just ignore it (gassing people is not acceptable) yet my heart as a mom goes the other way also!!!! Prayers for all the Sailors being sent over there due to all of this.........

Happy Labor Day to all :)

Hi,

I know about the military places to stay. You need to be sponsored to stay there and my son is deployed at this time. We need some cheap regular motels to check out.I found one near the airport. Pacific Coast Marina. It is just for a few nights.

Time to go to work.

tysmom, we stayed at the Hale Koa a couple of weeks ago. It was on the beach (about 20 minutes away) but if you are looking closer to Pearl Hickam, there is a Navy Lodge on Ford Island.  If you are wanting close to K'Bay there are very inexpensive rooms on that base too.  Try this link  http://www.somuchmorehawaii.com/2009/09/29/military-family-travel-t...

tysmom, which base? I've just been through this ordeal!

Sigh, I work all weekend bot not "Labor Day". There must be something comical about that.

Looking for an inexpensive hotel for a couple night in Hawaii. Any ideas? Fairly close to the base would be great. Needs to come with parking.

Wishing you all a nice, long holiday weekend!

Adam'sProudMom: It was very strange coming off vacation and finding out your boss was fired!

Ll Mom: Isn't is amazing how our sons change and think more of others then their selves. That was so sweet of him to say to buy his niece a gift instead of himself. They are growing up fast!!!!
