Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed.  Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Can anyone confirm if ship 2 Div 741 has moved to another ship and division

Yvette, I am sorry, I have no way of knowing. When I look at the U.S. Navy Recruit Training Command > Graduation > Training Gr... - I do not even see a Division # 741. Did you mean #174?  

Is Ship 2 RCU? That ship # has changed I think over the last few years and I have trouble keeping up with it. Sorry. 

To find a recruit does it go by division or ship? What’s ship 6? How would I know if ship 2 rcu has changed? I’m so sorry for the questions. I’m just confused. My son was in rcu ship 2 and today it looks like ship 6 not sure 

Yvette, how did you receive notification that your son was moved back to Ship 6?

So, RCU used to be housed in a different ship years ago, but I think it is in Ship 2 now. So, if your son was in RCU in Ship2, that would make sense. If he has been released from Ship 2 and moved to Ship 6 then it sounds like he has returned to normal training. Most likely he has been assigned to a new division. 

Other than Ship 2 - each of the ships, there are about 12 of them, may or may not house more than one division. So, when addressing your mail, you need to have both your SRs Ship # and their Division #. If you just have a ship #, you can find the address here - U.S. Navy Recruit Training Command > FAQ - click on the Contacting Recruits.

You can hope that a letter you send just addressed to your SR at Ship # 6 will reach him but it is hard to tell. 

Hopefully that’s the case that he was put back into training. I got notified by the mail room that he had changed but they confused me because they had said ship to have moved.

Hi Yvette - not quite sure what your question is....have you heard something from your SR?  Are you trying to figure out if he has been moved?  He would be able to notify you if he was moved....but it could take a bit of time.

I was informed that ship 2 was no longer ship 2 it was a different ship. I have not heard from him. I just wanted to ask if anyone knew if this information was correct.

I heard it was Ship 4 that changed. My kid called Tuesday and said he was now assigned to Ship 2 RCU so I'd say that's still valid.

That’s probably what they meant and they got confused when they told me. 

Yvette, my apologies if I caused you confusion. I am glad that TravelinMom was able to help you. 

Also, Div 741 is not one that is listed on the graduation page, so it must be a # that is assigned specifically to the RCU, which caused me confusion. Hopefully, you hear from him soon. He is the only one that is able to keep you updated, so when you write to him or are able to talk to him, let him know that as an adult now, no one will give you information, only he can or only if he gives them permission to. 

I share that because sometimes our young people, especially if they are fresh out of high school do not realize that once they turn 18 we as parents no longer have the rights to know what is going on with our kids, especially when it comes to medical, and they have to sign permission for their information to be shared.
