Event Description

Because many of us aren't able to meet the night before at the Ramada I found that we could meet at the Visitors Center right on base following graduation. From what I understand from Public Affairs this is close to a small eatery also so if anyone wanted to do lunch they could. It's also a great place to meet up with our sailor. This is very casual and informal and for anyone who wants to attend. I will be making name tags so if you are going to attend and want one let me know. Email me your personal info, first and last name, sailors name, ship and division and hometown and state.

You KNOW they would be SO embarrassed but then after living 7-8 weeks of the BC, they are probably ready for some real hard laughs and seeing how much we all care and support them. I think they may even, dare I say, LOVE it. We could alway wear jackets over top and just flash then PICs at them....but then that would be no fun. The world has to know how much these recruits (soon to be SAILORS) mean to us! Is everyone burning their candles?

YOU KNOW I AM SOOOO THERE!!! That is MY STYLE! :) But since it's not a hockey game, baseball game or rock concert....I will try to control myself! I did a bit of that at the college grad. I attended last weekend - but I suppose this should be a bit more controlled.

I will use my screaming, yelling and jumping up and down on the Nationals (baseball) game I am going to tonight.

YEAH!!!! (but I still think it would be super fun to have t-shirts with their faces...just to see the look in their eyes. Oh the joy that would bring me!)

Hugs y'all!

do you think our jumping up and down on the stands screaming their names would do it Marilyn?

I'm game to be a groupie too!! Too bad we didn't have time to get shirts with our boys' faces printed on them!! THAT WOULD HAVE ROCKED!!! (heeeheee! Just kidding!) but isn't that what TRUE groupies do?!?!

My son would be SO embarrassed - which is saying a lot! He's not embarrassed by much- after years of having me as a mom, his skin is pretty thick!

Ohhhhh....the look on his face..... : 0)

We could have the navy mom 'groupies'.... are any of you old enough on here to remember those days??????
Comment by Jill-FLA-Proud Mom of a Sailor on May 19, 2010 at 9:02pm
Lori....you might have company outside that gate! :)

There is a shuttle from the Red carpet Inn and I think [?] you tell them when you book in what time you want to take the shuttle. I want to be on it no later than 6:30. As if I'm going to have slept the night before- maybe I should just take my blankie and camp out in front of the gate!
