I want to wish all you 4/15 Moms and Dads luck this weekend. Have a wonderful time. The Full Moon was nice, but you must also hit Flanagans, just down the street. Much larger, more selections on the menu. We 4/18 Moms and Dads met there on Friday night after we took our new sailors back to base. They have a little private area in the back. And if you are planning to go into Chicago, the train is the best way to go. It stops next to the base, takes about 1 hr and 10 min. both ways. Driving takes 1 hr to and about 2 hrs from Chicago because of all the construction on the road. Be prepared for your sailor to spend a lot of time on 1. cell phone, 2. ipod and 3. laptop. All of them said riding in a car seemed weird. There is a mall in Gurnee called Gurnee Mills. We met a lot of new sailors and families there, but be prepared to walk--it's very spread out. There are Nary Exchanges on and off the base so if they are out at one, go to another--they are called NEX. Picture taking at PIR was disappointing because all the pics come out dark because of the lighting. Have a wonderful time, make many memories.
Thanks Patricia Ann, we appreciate the advise and good wishes.
