Hello, My name is Debbie and my daughter Aolani left for bootcamp on Aug 18th. So she is 2 days into the next stage of her life and all I can think about is what she is doing every minute of the day. My biggest fear is that she is emotionally ok. The physicall part I have no worries as she was very well prepared physically. Emotionally she was ready to leave and begin her career however me as a mother I worry about her emotions. Typical mother I guess.
I laid my phone down next to my face the night she flew to ORD and tossed and turned waiting for the phone call. She sounded GREAT. She sounded excited and that made me feel better. How do mothers and fathers get thru each day wondering what there child is doing. Did they get enough sleep? Have they cried? Are they in control of there emotions? Are they OK?
Graduation? When will I know the actual graduation date so I can prepare for travel arrangments.
Thanks everyone mom for there support and GOD BLESS!

Debbie, Navy Boot Camp is not physically difficult for recruits that are marginally in shape. I call Boot Camp an Orientation to the Navy. We have our own language that recruits have to learn: port and starboard, fore and aft, fantail, head, bulkhead, overhead, cover, binnacle list. Most know what a head is. They will never get enough sleep in Boot Camp they make sure of that. The girls probably had a group cry then got to work, Aolani will be fine...............
thanks for your words. Do you know if there is website once I find out what squad she is in to watch vidoes...My friends son is in marine boot camp and they post vidoes of there bootcamp on line. I was wondering if Navy has something like that also for there own troop or squad that they post.
My son is also at GL right now. I just received his box today.....waiting for an address. I have my letter all ready to go....just need somewhere to send it.....
Check with his recruiter. I got the information right away-I think 2 days after my son shipped out to GL.
Although the recruiter may have the info and sometimes it is even correct, the RTC asks that loved ones not send letters until they receive the form letter. If it has been at least 2 weeks since the recruit arrived at the RTC, then it is fine to get the address from the recruiter and send letters after double-checking the address against those at http://bootcamp.navy.mil/contact_recruit.asp or Ship/Division--How it Works.
Check your my Page.
I don't have an address just his division. Just wanted to know where he was. We are waiting to send him mail until we get his letter. That is why this site is so helpful
I am right there with you. My son left the 19th also and my emotions are all over. Loneliness setting in.
Oops sorry brain not working my boy left on 25th Uhg what the heck
ROXY2797, You still need to check your My Page and make some changes.
