Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

After BC durning Liberty...
I would like to know what the rules are as fas as after basic go like when he gets to hang out with me (his girlfriend) and his family???
Like what he is allowed to do and not do. Would just like to know what you learned from your experiences!
All I want to do his give him a big bear hug and I read somewhere that he isn't allowed to hug or kiss me at all in public while in uniform. Would just like to know everything! Thanks!

Right after they graduate, and the families rush down to see them, there is plenty of hugging and a few kisses.
But yes, while he is in uniform, there is no PDA allowed. You may take his left arm while walking, leaving his right arm free to salute. Think of a formal crook of his arm with your hand on it. Not linking your arm through his! No hand holding, no snuggling up and hanging on him while seated. And NO hickies!

My son graduated boot camp on March 18th and arrived at Goose Creek, SC. He went to his section leader for permission to marry his girlfriend. So they posponed his entrance to A school for a week gave him permission for a quick wedding and we got down there on Wednesday, they had got their license the day before and married on Wednesday in a park wedding. He was allowed to leave the base on Friday and he went to her house picked up her belongings and then to our house to get his belongings. The navy paid for the Uhaul from our house to his base housing he was assigned. They have a beautiful baby girl and they are all settled in and the following Monday he was off to A school we think. They may have given him another light week then starts A school 4/11/11. Their cell phone has run out of minutes so we're not real up on when his A school actually started. He is a Nuke and I have to say the Navy has been helpful at every turn and best of all they got base housing and the place is really nice with fresh paint, new carpets and all is good.
My son hugged and kissed me in public in his uniform that is not true. They are allowed to leave the base but must be back in by 10:00 pm I think and 12:00 pm on Fridday & Saturday. Once he got married he got permission to leave the base and head home to get his stuff here in North Carolina. He loves the Navy and is so happy he joined. I'm glad he is settled down and hope all goes smoothly for seeing your sailor.
Girl friends do have a lady like protocal to follow as mentioned by Anti M. I

Thanks for your input guys! Yes no hickies! I think they are really trashy anyways! I just really want my hug and kiss after 8 long weeks!
And Balsam that is a really sweet story! I am hoping I get that lucky! But my SR is going in as diver and has prep school for a month starting the Monday after basic! Soooo I might have to wait a bit!

Goose Creek is a lot easier than the other school commands when it comes to marriage. Wouldn't have happened in Great Lakes or Pensacola. They know the nukes are going to have it tough, the married ones often do better! Such a nice outcome! Always great to hear the happy stories.
LOL, no one is going to tell a momma not to hug and kiss her child. Somewhat different for the younger ladies, yes?
