Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Hi Cheyanna, My husband went in on February 24 with the same PIR date and we haven't received his first paycheck either. My sister is in the Navy and she prepared us that it probably wouldn't be until April 1 when we get his first pay. Hope you are doing well. Stay strong and let me know if you need anything. Only 37 more days.

It's about time for you to start getting letters from him. Write every day and know that he will write when he can. If you haven't received his address yet, contact his recruiter. An April 1 payday sounds right. The recruiter can probably answer that question also. Good luck! I was where you are almost exactly a year ago. It does get easier.

Thanks! This week has been a tough one for me! I miss him a whole lot! I also feel so terrible for what he is going though...wish I could be there to comfort him. I send him a letter (sometimes even 2) every single day and have since the Friday after he got there. So hopefully those help him! I can't wait for this to be over

If there isn't one already, you need to start a group for all divisions with your PIR date. You won't believe how helpful that is. You can commiserate with all the wives, girlfriends and moms going through the same things, and then you can meet in person at PIR. You should also join the Boot Camp Moms group if you haven't yet. Lots of current information on there.

Hi. My son left 3-1. I have received the "arrival phone call" and the box. Nothing else. I am waiting anxiously. I do send letters often. When I open my mail box, I stand there for a minute before touching the mail....They have to start coming soon. Hang in there with me. 36 Days until PIR (-:

Hi! I'm in the same boat (no pun intended) as you. My son left on 3/1 and all I've received is what you've gotten.
I guess this is a good lesson in patience- which I NEED- but wow is this tough! What ship/div is he in? My son is in Ship 10 Div 168. Hang in there! This can't and won't last forever.

Thank you sorry about the last name thing. I received 8 letters today!! Was so so so happy to hear from my husband. Bad news came with however. He was in the Nuke program and found out shortly after being there that is he apparently "color deficient" and won't be allowed to be in the program anymore even though he was fine at MEPS. He scored a 97 on the ASVAB so the recruiter says he will still get a good job. That is not the point though we were supposed to be able to live together in Charleston right after basic training. I have been sobbing all day. I hate to hear he is sick, his feet are in pain and he had to go through that rejection alone. This is way more difficult than I ever thought it would be!

It might not be as bad as you think. My son had a high score and was planning to be a Nuke just like his dad, but he is also "color deficient." He is now a CT (cryptology) and loves it! This was probably a better fit for him anyway. So now you might not be going to Charleston (which is where my son was born when his dad was in the Navy), but you still might get to move to where his school is, depending on what the school is. Sorry you're so upset, but it really does get better fast.
