For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Keep praying for strength for us all. Out family has had quite the year as well. My hubby has been very sick, since last September. No one could figure out what was wrong. I took him to Cleveland Clinic in January and has been treated there. He has a rare auto immune disease called Wegeners Granulomatisis..a rare form of Vasculitis (inflammation in his med blood vessels. The prognosis is not good, the treatment is not the easiest... But this coming Friday...we are praying his team of Doc's will tell us the wonderful word....REMISSION!!!! Fingers crossed! This add Shelby really think twice about joining the Mavy. Her dad told her, she needs to do this and he would be very upset if she didn't go because of him. It's a hard time when loved ones are ill and you can't have the communication to keep them informed. Which I know has it's good and bad consequences. Praying for your husbands recovery and that your daughter can stay focused! Sorry for the long response!

I'm posting here again, not sure if it posted before (couldn't find it) My son shipped out this past Wed 7/9/14. We never received a call from him. Not sure if that is unusual or common, But we heard from him at the airport saying they landed, all was well, and they were waiting for their bus, and he loved us. That was the last we heard from him. I assume at this point if something went wrong we would have heard from the recruiter (or someone?) I can say, our son is typically a pretty quiet kind of kid and if (what I suspect) his cell battery died and they had to borrow from someone, it would have been awkward for him to ask a random person. He had a pre paid calling card (but we didn't know they should have activated the cards prior). I also read that the land-line phones removed? (unconfirmed) as far as a collect call, if they had those phones (not sure)....lol he never made a collect call in his life--- I briefly mentioned how to him. But still kinda bummed we didn't get that call. Dying to know what division he was placed in to so I can connect with other families in the same! I assume he is still in the processing days....waiting around still.

My son left Sunday with his recruiter, but shipped out date was Monday, 7/7/2014.

Thank you! My son left 7/8 for Chicago. I stil havent recieved the "box" but Im hopeing today!

I am waiting for my box as well. We only live 3 hours from GL but because we are up North it always takes longer-even with Fed Ex:) We just need to be patient.
