(((Tiny94mom))) I will be praying for your strength!
My son left 07/09/14. Waiting for my "box". I thank all you ladies for the support and knowledge. This page makes it a lot easier. GO NAVY STRONG!!
I'm posting here again, not sure if it posted before (couldn't find it) My son shipped out this past Wed 7/9/14. We never received a call from him. Not sure if that is unusual or common, But we heard from him at the airport saying they landed, all was well, and they were waiting for their bus, and he loved us. That was the last we heard from him. I assume at this point if something went wrong we would have heard from the recruiter (or someone?) I can say, our son is typically a pretty quiet kind of kid and if (what I suspect) his cell battery died and they had to borrow from someone, it would have been awkward for him to ask a random person. He had a pre paid calling card (but we didn't know they should have activated the cards prior). I also read that the land-line phones removed? (unconfirmed) as far as a collect call, if they had those phones (not sure)....lol he never made a collect call in his life--- I briefly mentioned how to him. But still kinda bummed we didn't get that call. Dying to know what division he was placed in to so I can connect with other families in the same! I assume he is still in the processing days....waiting around still.

JTD's Mom, Even this early "No news is good news!" Since he wasn't able to make the "I'm here!" call he may be able to make a make up call.
Check your My Page. I left a comment with groups and information.
When did you son leave for bootcamp?? OMG I can't wait to get something.
My son left Sunday with his recruiter, but shipped out date was Monday, 7/7/2014.
I am waiting for my box as well. We only live 3 hours from GL but because we are up North it always takes longer-even with Fed Ex:) We just need to be patient.
