I don't think so, only because I will have my 13, 9, and 6 year old boys with me and I can't leave them at the hotel. I doubt they are allowed to attend meet and greet. LOL!

I am not sure about children being allowed there. Have you checked with Sarge to see if children are allowed?

No I haven't. That is a good idea. Will check with him and will post answer for all, because I am sure that others are in similar situations. I really don't know if I will be able to make it. I am taking a half-day from work, which means I can't leave until 11:30 and then I have to grab the boys from their schools and we will hit the road, but I don't know that we will get up there in time. I will do my best to be there, but I can't promise anything.

How much are the rooms at LaQuinta Inn & Suites and how far is it from the base?

My room at the La Quinta was $64, which is 2 double beds and included the microwave and fridge. $59 without microwave and fridge. Of course this is before tax, and I only got a room for Thursday night. I have family in the area that we may stay with Friday night if we stay in the area. It depends where my son goes for A school. The La Quinta is about 6 miles from base (in Guernee). Since I will be driving up from Kentucky, and not going inside the actual ceremony, it didn't matter so much to me for a shuttle.

Oh, I see, that all makes sense. Well, hopefully, we can meet up somehow so we can meet in person. I will have a rental car and I found out that my son is leaving on Saturday for A School and my daughter-in-law is going down to Florida on a separate flight, of course, and her Mom is leaving to go back to Phoenix that day. My husband and I will be heading to Milwaukee to visit with family/friends since we grew up there and still have tons of family/friends back there and staying the night with my brother. We will be flying home on Sunday with my Dad who will already be there. My dad, brother, sister-n-law, nieces, great-niece, and a few friends are all coming down from Milwaukee on Friday after the graduation. We are flying in on Wed. Sept. 4 and staying with my sister-in-law who lives in Chicago and is pregnant with her first baby, so needless to say it will be a busy few days for us.

Seebysmom, we will fly United. I just got a call from my boy and got a letter, he sounds good. Still unsure though about his decision. So far passed every test and ranked up already.

For all who wondered, I just looked and ALL AGES are admitted to the meet and greet with Sarge at the Sundance.

Great to know Micheladylaura Thanks for the info.

my grandson PIR is on 09/06/13 were coming from Abilene tx ship 14 div 335,we got the letters saying he hates it. made big mistake at first. but the letters got better.and so did his feeling about being so homesick. see ya,ll there cant wait.
