It sounds like some of the other divisions with same PIR are getting to make phone calls.

So, 11/083, has everyone received a phone call from their SR?  How are we all doing?  I know my phone call was a serious boost to me!!

So has anyone else given the idea of a colored scarf more thought?  I saw a cute yellow scarf that looked homemade on the RTC Facebook page the other night, and for someone who doesn't sew, it looked super simple to make.  I may give it a try this weekend...

Very cute! Where do you get all the letters and anchor? At a fabric shop?

I didn't make this one, but I thought it looked simple enough to copy.  I looked online last night at Joann.com, and I think I found the same fabric, and they look like iron-on letters and same for the anchor.  What do you think, should we give it a go, and even if we don't make our own, go with yellow for 11/083?

If you can forward the JoAnn link, I will give it a try too. At least the two of us will find each other! :)

If you want to send the link via private message, that might be preferable.

I love the yellow and blue combination

Is anyone staying at the Ramada Inn? We are driving all night on Wednesday and will get there Thursday.

Leslie, My husband and I are staying at the Ramada. We are flying into O'Hare on Thursday and land around 2:30. We are renting a car at the airport and driving to the hotel. Since we have not ever visited the area previously, I hope it doesn't take us too long to find it!

Yay! I don't think it will be to bad. GL is north of Chicago. GOOD LUCK at the airport. I despise that place! We are driving all night Wednesday and should be there after lunch on Thursday. We wanted to stay there because of the indoor pool and hot breakfast! :) This will give our 16 yr old something to do. My son is staying in GL for A school so we wanted to be able to hang out and relax until we leave on Sunday. hope it is nice! I have family in WI that will be coming down too. Can't wait to meet you! i am going to work on crocheting a yellow scarf for us all this week!

The crochet scarf sounds wonderful! SailorJs Mom has an idea for the yellow scarf with the iron-on Navy decals.

I'm going to the fabric store tonight, and will let you know how much fabric I bought, the cost, etc.  Wish I could claim credit for the idea, but as I said, I did see a photo of one on the RTC Facebook page, and thought it looked easy enough for someone like me who doesn't have much (if any, really) sewing experience.  In order to make it more "ours" I thought in addition to using the "NAVY" lettering, maybe we could also add "083" on them, since I read somewhere that in all of their covers, our kids will continue to be linked to their division numbers throughout their Navy careers... So, I'll let you know what I find tonight.  :)
