Families who are unable to attend PIR, 6.1.2012, Ship 02 Div 929 & others graduating that day

Hi everyone,

I posted on another's thread, but figured I would start my own as well.

Due to a variety of circumstances, no one from our family will be present to see my son in his PIR. I feel SO bad about it all, as does his wife and the rest of our family.

I am reaching out to others who will be in attendance that day. If you have a chance and see my son standing there without anyone, please consider saying hello to him, or offering a hug. I will provide name and details to anyone who sends a message to my inbox here.

Many thanks for your time and consideration.

VirginiaMom,

You are a member of the PIR June 1, 2012 group. Please post a message on the group's main page.  Ask people to send you a friend request.  Secondly, when you get to the group's main page, look to the upper right, you'll see "Send a Group Message" click on that, you can send a message to everyone who is in the group. Each member will then get a message on their N4M private message system.  This is for members who might not be checking the site but will get an email notification with you message.  I am sure someone if the group will be happy to include your son with their festivities.  Your son should also reach out to others. He should let his friends know that his family can't make it.  BTW, your son can also offer to list "overflow" guests of other recruits on HIS list - that most likely will guarantee an invite. The sailor really do take care of each other and it starts with Boot Camp. He won't be by himself for long.  Don't over stress about this.
