My son is 17 and in bootcamp. Never ever has he been to a psychotherapist nor has he ever taken any meds. The Doctor in bootcamp found psych meds in his record from a psychotherapy office in VA 2018 and we moved from VA in 16??? Now tomorrow I have to call and see if I can straighten this out. I was given a fax # to send info..very strange and I can't help but think it's a case of stole identity. Any thoughts?

Would probably be a good idea to order a credit report for his social security number if you suspect identity theft. Since he's not 18 yet you should be able to do it yourself.
Very weird situation.

I don't have an answer but I agree - very strange.  I hope you are able to get this resolved quickly!

If you find that a fraudulent Rx was written "for" your son, you should contact the Virginia Dept of Health Professionals (1-800-533-1560) to report the provider as using your son's name/file to prescribe drugs when he was never a patient. There may be other "patients" used in a scheme to procure drugs. A second call should be made to report the incident to law enforcement for criminal referral and an investigation which goes beyond a disciplinary matter initiated within the medical community.

As an attorney, I would like you to message me regarding your findings on this matter.

LeAnn

Hi LeAnn, I drove fro NC to VA and the Medical Facility and Dr in question had no record of my son having been seen or prescribed medication. This has been the most stressful weekend! I know my sons medical background like I know my own...probably better being less years. I know there was a mix up somewhere but where? How do I prove nothing? I haven't heard from him since Thursday and I faxed my findings on Friday so I am hoping that he has been cleared. Lots of prayer have been said. I will update when I get word.
Whatever craziness this was is now resolved. My son is back with his division and I received my form letter today. So glad to have that over!

Glad this was resolved with no issues!

That’s fantastic news Jen!

That is strange.

Yes very strange. I went from worried sick, to let me try to fix this, to angry.. whatever it was I will either have to wait to ask him at graduation or we will never know. I thought maybe it was a moment of truth scare tactic, but I just don't know.
