Ask on the comment wall in your group...that way more will see the question.
If he is G&G, here is a group.
Grad & Go Info
That group isn't very big nor active it may take a bit for them to answer. I have an e mail that you can try...its the public affairs office at RTC. Just ask if they could tell you rtc.pao@navy.mil
Hi Denise, my son is also on ship 10, div. 253. I also am trying to find out if he is grad and go. I got a letter today and he said he would not know until the last week. He is doing A school in Great Lakes. I also don't know if everyone in the division would be grad n go?
Grad and go in Great Lakes for A school isn't a big deal, they check out of RTC and check into the training side. Takes a few hours Friday afternoon, then they have the normal PIR weekend liberty. Most still have a curfew, but unlike the sailors who stay on the RTC (boot camp) side, they can take possessions such as cell phones back to their new barracks rooms.

The ones who must get on a plane to go to another base entirely are often the ones who have only a few short hours.

Note the use of the word OFTEN. There's also maybe, possibly, sometimes. You just don't know until you know.
my son is going to A school in Florida, so I am really upset over the possibility of having only a few short hours. I'm crushed.
Meet him at the airport. Find out WHICH airport. Often flights are delayed= more time with your Sailor. Take him his cell/laptop to the airport for him to take to A school (need navy blue/black PLAIN bag to carry laptop in)

All is not lost. You'll still have several hours with him. Most Sailors go to the airport at 2am. You'll have from after PIR till about 7pm and then time at the airport.
My son was a grad and go in 20008. It was hard to take not getting to spend the weekend with him like I thought was going to happen. We got about hr after his graduation which was very caotic hr, then he had to get on a bus to take him to the airport. We drove to the airport and got sit there and wait for his plane I was glad to get 2 more hrs with him befor he was gone again. Good Luck !
Hi Julie,
I found out today that div. 253 is not grad and go. I am so relieved. For you it would have been nice if he will be staying in GL. I was informed by the public affairs office and yes it sounds like it is the whole div.
YAY!! Denise, I'm so happy for you!
Also search groups and join the A school he's going to. There is one for Pensacola and another one for Corry Station. What is his job (rate)? You may want to join that group as well.

My son went to Corry Station...he's an IT
