OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Guam is football theme

Our contact in Guam posted this information today. I had asked for it and she really came thru. I currently have on hand fabric for: packers, university of Michigan, cowboys. I did have bears, but gave it to a friend. I'll see if I can get some back.
another member is in Ohio right now and I emailed her to see if she can get Buckeye and Bengal fabric. Lyn has the Steelers covered and a sailor's mom is getting U of Georgia..

SO, if any of you live in a state that I haven't named, and would like to mail me some fabric, I will make a pillowcase for them. And the sooner the better, as I have a craft fair at the end of the month I need to work on. I need anywhere from 1/4 to 1 yard. your choice. If you just get 1/4 yard, I will make a banded one.

This is exciting! I do have other football fabric and Lyn has some too, but if we can make it specific, that would be better. My son said "mom, anything personal is awesome, but I know that is hard to do." And here, Sarah drops that opportunity into our laps.

I will be buying some more green fabric today to redo the border on that pillowcase with the poor sailor's last name spelled correctly!! ARGH!

Sue, do you need some regular pillow cases since you have all the football teams. What can I do for you, I have tons of material, and I do know how to sew.

Hi Trouble, we do the have the Guam group all covered. Yes, we do need regular pillowcases. I just make them, or my Tucson team makes them and I store them waiting to be mailed. I have quite a few on hand at the moment, but then a big group comes along and I get wiped out again.

We have been making patrtioic or just fun prints. I started with stars and stripes, but then found stuff that was easily identified with USA. so branched out very quickly in January. I'm going to send out some pictures.

Here are the finished Green Bay Packers and the Dallas Cowboys. Lots of piecing on the Cowboys.
Today I got the fabric for the CIncinati Bengals, Ohio buckeyes (a tshirt actually that I will adapt) and more Raiders.
How is everyone else coming with theirs?
I'm not putting names on mine. I am doing several groups of mulitples and I would rather they choose their own. Can't wait to do the Raiders and make 6 unique pillowcases.
In the cowboys picture: look at the back left with the blue cover. That is full of pillowcases. The blue cover is the one I brought home from the ship. That is the remodeling project that is taking too long! Fabric for pillowcases is underneath the cards table.

hi sue -- i was just checking - i dont sew or do pillowcase - but had read u were having trouble getting BILLS fabric - i see... u said now have all teams covered right ? i didnt go look but can make trip to joannne's if need be -- I am down the road from bills staduim -- everything bills is pricey but let me know ok ...

Hi aunt, we have the Bills covered. Carolyn had some fabric. But thank you so much for asking to help! I really appreciate it! This is so exciting.
I got the Wisconsin Badger fabric today. And Cathy refreshed my memory that she has the 49er's and they are made. I'll post her pictures later. Wow, this is just great.

These are Cathy's pillowcases. Lyn, I see on Molly;s that you have finished the football ones. What did you do for the longhorns? Troube on fire is planning to mail you some burnt orange fabric tomorrow. So let me/her know if you don't need it. Thanks!
