You sent out a message to the whole group. We don't do it that way.  If you want to PM about your son, his unit/ship, when he's leaving etc, I would be glad to chat with you.  Thanks!

Thanks B'sNukeMoM/!  It was not a goal that I was working towards when I started this in 2008!

But in late 2019 when we mailed over 4600  to the Lincoln in 8 weeks, it pushed up fast really fast.  So in 2020, that 100,000 mark kind became important to me!  And 1 of 5 sewers hit it on that date.  I go by when they tell me they mailed.

Sue - Wow!  That's awesome ;-D  I'm sure you've made many a sailor happy.  Thank you for all you do!

100,000 and counting!

13 years ago my son was deployed on the USS Abraham Lincoln and I sent the muffins that arrived moldy!  In June of 2008 I made 4 patriotic pillowcases to replace the "birthday" muffins and told the guys in his cube to celebrate their birthdays with the country's.

On November 27,2020, we hit the milestone of 100,000 made and sent to our deployed military!

Our current numbers are 102,226 and counting!

Oh boy!  It has been over a year since I posted on here!  My apologies.  I have that FB book and it seems that's all that I can keep up with!

I sure don't know where the time goes in my life, but I can say that November and December were 2 busy and intense months for me.

We adopted the Lincoln and mailed pillowcases every week for 8 weeks.  The HAE crew is absolutely amazing as we accomplished the goal of 4800 in that time frame.  There was another group who helped with 295 but the HAE crew did the rest.

Baker1013 please send me a message with your email address and I will send you some patterns.  We would love your help!

Comment by Baker1013 on January 17, 2020 at 12:53pm

Is there a specific pattern that is used?  I have a group at church that sometimes likes to take on sewing projects and this sounds like it could be beneficial to all parties involved.

Thank you for any information....

It is a confirmed GO with the USS Abraham Lincoln.  We are mailing pillowcases to the entire ship. We will be over 2,000 sent in 3 weeks by next Wednesday.

If you would like to help with this project please send me a pm.

Thanks!  Here are some photos of pcs that we sent already.
