Our contact in Guam posted this information today. I had asked for it and she really came thru. I currently have on hand fabric for: packers, university of Michigan, cowboys. I did have bears, but gave it to a friend. I'll see if I can get some back.
another member is in Ohio right now and I emailed her to see if she can get Buckeye and Bengal fabric. Lyn has the Steelers covered and a sailor's mom is getting U of Georgia..

SO, if any of you live in a state that I haven't named, and would like to mail me some fabric, I will make a pillowcase for them. And the sooner the better, as I have a craft fair at the end of the month I need to work on. I need anywhere from 1/4 to 1 yard. your choice. If you just get 1/4 yard, I will make a banded one.

This is exciting! I do have other football fabric and Lyn has some too, but if we can make it specific, that would be better. My son said "mom, anything personal is awesome, but I know that is hard to do." And here, Sarah drops that opportunity into our laps.

Carolyn, it looks great! thanks for posting a picture.
It's so exciting to think of these sailors opening the packages and finding a pillowcase individually made for them! It's just too cool!
I agree Barbara. did we decide if we want to wrap them and put a name on them? I have 3 sets of duplicates, but will just include a note that they can swap those among them. Each one will be distinctly different.

Dori, did your friend Carolyn get her Gators done? I'd love to see a picture of it, cause I can't picture the colors or mascot.
I think they should be wrapped or at least a nice ribbon around them with a tag. We can include a note if we are sending other stuff that the box is for everyone but the pillowcase is for a particular sailor. I was going to include a few goodies.
Sue, I have sent off a note to Carolyn asking her about the pillowcase and requesting a photo. She got a new camera just before she went to Alaska this spring and hadn't got it to talk to her old computer yet. A week or so she bought a MAC and she is still learning how to use that. UF colors are royal blue and orange, usually a bright reddish orange. I would bet the gator is the head of a growling gator. I know she said she picked up a couple of different types because she couldn't make up her mind which she liked best. I asked her what she plans to do with the rest and she said she guessed she would have to make us some more pillowcases. Who knows?
that's great Dori!
yes, I agree Barbara. After all of our work for a personal gift to a sailor, I think they should be tagged. But I like the tissue paper wrapping also just to make the suspense alittle more.

We are planning to mail on 9-30. I just can't have the last 7 made before then. I hope this works for everyone!

Here are the pictures of the Fresno State and the Longhorn pillowcases.

man Lyn, I about had a heart attack when I saw that bulldog one! I just worked on the Georgia Bulldog fabric and that's what came to mind. I had to double check online. haha.

2 bulldog teams-both college, how funny.

they look wonderful! I am impressed with your embroidery. That Texas longhorn fabric looks great! thanks for doing them.

And here are a couple from Kim:
Sue, I had to check that Fresno State one twice myself. I'd always thought of Georgia when anyone said Bulldogs. I guess one is east coast and one is west coast. It says Fresno State on the other side (in the blue). Its nice to get some use out of an outrageously expensive sewing machine. I paid more for it than I paid for my first car. I got is to work on Wedding Dresses while I was still in the business.
well, you sure are putting it to good use. And i know that sailor is going to love it!
Don't forget the Gonzaga Bulldogs from Spokane, WA!! OMG, Bulldogs are taking over the world!!
