My husband and I decided that once I adopt him on Christmas instead of coming back to TN I will stay there for the duration of his BC which he is expected to graduate 1/9/15, and his A-School which on his papers say it's nine weeks. I haven't talked to my husband since Dec 5. He usually calls me once a week. I'm scared, worried, and extremely sad. My birthday is on the 22nd and I know he won;t be able to call just because it's my birthday, but I at least want to hear from him before Christmas. The time is moving by so slow and I'm cried all out. I usually get his letters on Thursday and time is just at a stand still. Can I get some advice?

Remember in the Navy, "No news is good news!" There are no guaranteed calls at the RTC and no set number of calls. Even the most common, "I'm here!" at arrival, "I'm still alive" after a few weeks, and the "I"m a Sailor!" call can be missed for various reasons. Stay positive and you will see him before long. You know your finances so you are in the best position to know if it is good to stay in GL that long. Your BAH will be affected and you won't see him much (not at all between Christmas and PIR) even after he moves over to the TSC. Yes, MM "A" School is 9 weeks after classing up. He could (most likely will )be there at least a few weeks longer. He'll most likely be home after "A" School especially since he has a reserve contract.

Check your My Page.

My husband just got out of bootcamp. The last week was just as hard as the first week. Just remember everyday is a day closer. Writing letters to him helped me. Know why he joined the Navy and stay strong when you want to be the weak one. Have goals for your self to focus on, or look into as well. My husband has just gotten to A school and life is much better. It will get better.

Check your My Page and join the groups for "A" School.
