Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

letters from my daughter
I received 2 letters from my daughter today. I was excited at first but she is so homesick, wants to come home and is wondering if she made the right decision to join. Toward the end, though, she sounded a bit more upbeat. From reading other comments on here, I expected her to be this way. I just hope it gets better for her.

It is very common for the recruits to have some degree of homesickness especially during the first half of BC. It does get better for most and I hope it does for her as she begins to connect with her other shipmates and they begin working as a team and seeing that the end is in sight. Keep encouraging her and you will be amazed at the change when you see her at PIR.

Thank you...i wrote her a letter full of encouragement and told her how proud of her we all are. I try not to talk about things at home because I don't want her to feel left out..Not sure if that is a good thing or not. Still kind of new at this..I'm learning along with her..Thanks again!
