For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

They usually don't have leave till after A school. No the Navy doesn't pay for anyone to fly and yes you have to drive your own car.
During A school he has to live on base.

Is he going to nuke school? He can live offbase with you, and there is base housing available. He will put in 70 hour weeks, so you won't see a lot of him.
No, they do not ship your car. Yes, you are going to have to drive all that way with a baby. He won't be able to come get you, you are going to have to do this by yourself. Thousands of military spouses do. He will get to his school and make arrangements for the Navy to pack up your household goods, then you drive to where he is.
I was raised in the Navy, those cross-country drives are etched in my memories. Try it with three cats and a dog. Or two brothers and a five foot iguana.

Yeah he's going to Nuke school, I was talking to another friend who just moved down there and her husband was able to come up and get her. I can't drive the car because it's a stick shift and I haven't learned. I might fly anyways even if the Navy doesn't pay for it, or have my mom or dad drive down there with me if he can't come back up...idk.
