My son goes to meps this Thursday and Friday July 23 an 24. What can I expect to learn from being a Navy Mom. My husband has been in the Army 32 years. Is there a big difference in the 2 branches.

I was an Army brat and a Navy Mom, There are some similarities in that they are both DoD and so the pay scale is the same; the unpredictability is the same....

There are differences of course; the biggest being the possibility of a duty station on board a Navy vessel.

You will find that Navy Moms have each others' backs, which you probably saw as an Army Wife. Having a family member in the military means that every military member and their families become family and jump in to help each other.

Thank you lemonelephant  for the information you provided for me... My husband is now in the National Guard but he's AGR. My son wanted to go in the Airforce but the Airforce Recruiters we seen was not so nice and didn't want to help my son even though he scored a 59 on their pretest and the score to make is a 50. So we decided that the Navy will good for him. He went in took the pretest scored a 70 and now the Recruiters got the ball rolling for him to go to Meps. I pray that he does well on the ASVAB and his physical. He study the ASVAB books all the time getting ready for the test.

You are very welcome.

Let me know when you know his ship date and the rating or field he signs a contract for and I can give you more info.

Hi Lemonelephant his BC date to leave is March 15
