OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Follow this link for OPSEC Guidelines:

There is now a separate discussion thread: INDIANAPOLIS NAVY WEEK 2011 where we'll try to keep the info for just that city... making it easier to volunteer and see what's happening.

YAY  Navy Week is coming to Chattanooga!  It is attached to Riverbend, a music festival, get drunk, fireworks, expensive week long h*ll raising event.  We don't usually go, but I know my younger boys would love seeing the Leap Frogs!

How would I get involved in helping out that week?

You may have already found this, but at the bottom of the Chattanooga Navy Week page (  is the contact info for the coordinator:

The Leap Frogs often ask for young voulenteers to help them roll up their parachutes after the jump and answer questions, so you can look for that if you attend one of their events.

I did contact the coordinator.  He said he would touch base with me again following the holidays!  Thanks!  My kids would be in heaven if they got to help out, even if was rolling up parachutes!:)

YAY!  Navy Week is coming to Austin for Rodeoooo which will be right down the highway from us.  How do we know what's happening?  Is there something set up for Navy 4 Moms?

Hi, my  name is LCDR Lisa Braun and I am the coordinator for Austin Navy Week.  If you are interested in coordinating a Navy for Moms event during Austin Navy Week (March 19-26) please contact me at  A single point of contact from Navy for Moms is appreciated to avoid any duplicated efforts or having "too many fingers in the cookie jar!" :-)

You can also check out the Navy Week schedule at Click on the upper right hand corner of the page for the Schedule of Events page; this page is constantly being updated and changes do occur, so check back frequently.

Absolutely I'm interested in coordinating a Navy for Moms event!  I'm thrilled and will send you an email.  Thank you!

My husband and son is in the Civil Air Patrol in the Dallas Texas area. My daughter is in her last two weeks of Navy boot camp. It would be nice to have the cadets come and see what you have to offer, and to learn about other branches of the military.

Good Morning - congratulations to your daughter!  Please contact me at so we can discuss specifics of involving the Civil Air Patrol cadets.

Do you know the dates for Omaha Nebraska?

Do you have the dates for Philadelphia?  Event schedule?
What are the dates for the Dallas Ft. Worth Navy week?
